Summer Eleven

On my way to work with Leprous’ new album BILATERAL in my ears. It’s a wicked album spanning from “Drum&Metal” to haunting ballads to epic prog rock. Looking forward to its release!

Fòddòg is taking shape as well, and hopefully we’ll do at some minor gigs this summer. Album recording could start in July if it all fits. Exciting!

Two Thousand Eleven

Fòddòg is a band. There are four of us. And it’s going to be nice. Apart from that, I am responsible for vocal post-processing for The upcoming Leprous album. Stay tuna.

November

Back in my office chair Monday morning. Somehow I find that less inspiring than being in my home office slash guest room slash studio. Imagine that. Anyway, I started working on the Fòddòg album this weekend. Finally. No demo, no pre-prod. I’m going official. And I like it. Song #1 is roughly 60-70% done in terms of instrumentation, but the last bit is of course the most challenging. I need to make it all fit somehow.

I’m also walking down a new path with a spanking rock band called MonoPark. We’re working on new tunes for your listening pleasure. And as a little curiosity – I’m digging into Norwegian folk music. Listening, learning and soon performing. Fun.

Autumn update

Mÿrull: Sigurd Ytre-Arne, Tor M. Hegge, yours truly, Marie Tveiten and Oddbjørn Aase.

As always, things take a lot longer time than you initially expect. Or that’s not entirely true. The real deal is that you never get enough time to put all that effort into your ideas that you thought you would. So both Cone and Fòddòg are faint points on the roadmap somewhere ahead, and I hope to finish at least one of the projects this year. What is slightly more exciting is that I’m jamming with an Oslo based band these days, and I think it could turn out pretty cool. I also took part in a local play in Seljord this weekend with the fictional band Mÿrull.

Summertime.

Fòddòg is slowly taking shape, and a record will be produced over the next months. I am also putting together a CD of Cone gems. Some old, hopefully a couple of new ones – and a few surprises. All of them remixed from the bottom up. To be released sometime this winter. This could be a fine fall and a wonderful winter.

Preprod day

I had the crazy notion that I could pull off almost ten Fòddòg preprod songs today, but it seems I forgot I’m all too hung up on details, details, details. With that in mind, finishing one tune wasn’t all that bad. And it’s a rocker. Not quite sure about the bridge-slash-solo thing though. We’re getting there.

Tight.

Ham & Herring played back on headphones. For the first time in history, it’s pretty tight. I love it to death. 2010 is looking good.

Springtime

Sun shining outside my office, real nice change. Especially since the windows were cleaned two days ago. Been listening to Cone stuff lately, working on some old tunes. It’s going to rock. Look forward to it!

Busy April

All right then. First blogpost. I’m a songwriter, musician and producer based in Oslo, Norway. Amidst other things I am going to mix Leprous‘ latest demo next week, they were obviously happy with the last one I did for them. Check them out, they’re a great band. Other plans for the future include a remix of old Cone material (my first band) with a planned reunion sometime in the fall. Some gems to come. My solo project Fòddòg is also a priority in addition to new band Isesba.
